Data/Fibre Engineer

The Role

You will be expected to carry out the installation of both fibre optic and copper cabling throughout a wide range of environments including Data Centres, Corporate and Industrial sites and beyond.
As the ideal candidate, you will possess a wealth of experience and be familiar with the installation, termination, troubleshooting and testing of both copper and fibre optic cabling.
You will be comfortable with a wide range of industry-standard test standards and associated equipment, including Fluke Network DSX-5000 Cable Analysers, OTDRs and Optical Light Loss testers.
Basic IT skills should also be held, including the ability to create patching schedules and respond to both staff and customer queries via both telephone and e-mail.
Experience working from detailed drawings, schematics and patching schedules should be possessed.
Due to the nature of this role, you may be expected to work away from home (hotels plus overnight allowance provided). Weekend work and night work may also be required to suit client requirements.
The role covers the United Kingdom and therefore travel is a necessary part of the job.
